about

Jonah Rusling is the owner of Reject Records and Detroit/Ann Arbor-based Selector Catalogue. You may remember him sharing vinyl space with the likes of Shitmat, Mochipet, Blaerg, Graz and Foxdye on 2008's "Biting on Ravecore" compilation 12" released on Fukdup and Reactionary Records. After several singles and EP's on varioius labels and a full length release on Backwards Records he's joined up with Fukdup once again for his most intricate and melodic release to date. Selector Catalogue has always been known for his mashed-up splatter breaks and post-industrial anarchistic blast-beats with accents of video game melodies. "Hyperfocus" remains true to this style but also steps up the production value several notches, taking space and letting the music breathe while simultaneously keeping the listener focused in his attack. The bass is heavy and round throughout the album, amongst sizzling high hats and stuttering kicks all woven together with warm, classical chip-break melodies.
